According to preliminary estimates from the Office for National Statistics, the economy of the United Kingdom grew by 0.1% in the last three months of 2025, maintaining the same rate as in the previous quarter, but below analysts' expectations. The services sector recorded no growth, a first in the last two years, although travel agencies and administrative services performed well. In contrast, professional, scientific, and technical activities decreased by 1.1%. Although the manufacturing sector grew, construction had the weakest performance in the last four years, with a decline of 2.1%. Overall, the economy grew by 1.3% in 2025, and the director of economic statistics at the ONS, Liz McKeown, emphasized that the overall picture was one of modest growth.
