Tensions between Thailand and Cambodia have escalated, with at least 21 dead and 700,000 evacuations from both countries. After discussing with the prime ministers of both countries, Donald Trump announced on social media that a ceasefire had been agreed upon, but Anutin, the Thai prime minister, emphasized that Thailand is not the aggressor and that Cambodia must withdraw its troops and clear the mines from the border. Although a ceasefire was agreed upon, Thai airstrikes continued, and Cambodia reported new bombings. The conflict began on July 24, when Cambodia launched rockets at Thailand, and both sides accused each other of initiating the attacks. Over time, tensions have increased, and the fighting has affected 12 provinces in both countries. The border dispute, which dates back over a century, was drawn by French cartographers in 1907, when France was the colonial power in Cambodia.
