Tehran is facing an acute water shortage and local authorities have decided to cut household electricity twice a day, affecting the operation of air conditioners in temperatures of up to 37 degrees Celsius. Nearly 80% of Iran's water reservoirs are empty, and in some areas of Tehran, water does not flow for hours. Climate change is worsening the situation, with prolonged droughts and extreme weather events on the increase.
