The Syrian army reported on Monday a "widespread" drone attack targeting several of its bases in the eastern part of the country, near the border with Iraq. Damascus has tried to avoid involvement in the Iran War but has signaled a series of incidents on its territory.
In a statement, the army declared that it had managed to shoot down most of the drones and that it is analyzing response options to prevent any aggression. On Sunday, Syria rejected a drone attack coming from Iraq, targeting the American base Qasrak, and the army reported significant fires at facilities held by the U.S.
The Deputy Minister of Syrian Defense, Sipan Hamo, called on Iraq to prevent the recurrence of these attacks that threaten the stability of the region. In the context of the Iran War, Syria reaffirms its commitment to keep its country out of these conflicts.
