Iran has launched attacks on American military bases in Iraq and Jordan, according to Iranian state media and the Jordanian Armed Forces, in response to recent U.S. bombings. These attacks were triggered after American forces struck a residence in Sirik, Iran, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a child, and injuring another 50.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) justified the attacks as a response to the actions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC warned the U.S. that they would regret the attacks.
Iranian forces launched ballistic missiles at a base of U.S. Marines in Aqaba, Jordan, but most were intercepted. Rocket attacks have also been reported in Bahrain.
