The White House supports that Spain has agreed to cooperate militarily with the United States of America in operations related to the conflict in the Middle East, after threats to suspend trade relations, however, the government in Madrid categorically rejects these claims and states that it has not changed its position of refusal regarding the use of Spanish bases for military missions against Iran.

Spain has condemned these bombings as reckless and illegal, and Deputy Prime Minister Maria Jesus Montero emphasized that the country will not be "the vassal" of another state.
