Jose Manuel Albares, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the territorial integrity of Lebanon must be preserved and criticized the threat of a ground invasion by Israel, calling it a "huge mistake." At a press conference, he announced humanitarian aid of 9 million euros for Lebanon, emphasizing that Spain condemns both the attacks by Israel and the rockets launched by Hezbollah.
Albares discussed with his Lebanese counterpart to offer Spain's support in maintaining Lebanon's sovereignty. The aid will include food, water, and medical assistance, with a plan for additional interventions based on needs. Albares also reaffirmed Spain's support for the UN mission in Lebanon, which has nearly 700 soldiers deployed there. Hezbollah has continued its attacks on Israel, and the Lebanese government is seeking international support to manage the crisis of displaced persons, which already numbers 600,000.
