Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that he will not attend the European Union summit in Copenhagen for health reasons related to the assassination attempt he suffered last year when he was shot four times. Although he returned to work after a few months of recovery, Fico recently canceled several public appearances. The summit will address topics such as defense and the use of frozen Russian assets, and Fico, known for his critical positions against military aid to Ukraine, emphasized that Slovakia will not support additional sanctions against Russia without corresponding measures for the local industry.
