On the night of September 6 to 7, Russia launched an attack with hundreds of drones and missiles towards Ukrainian cities, hitting residential buildings in Kyiv. The attacks resulted in the death of two people, including a one-year-old child, and injured another 13, five of whom required hospitalization. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported the partial destruction of some buildings and fires following the attacks. Explosions were heard in several cities across Ukraine, and the Ukrainian air forces warned about missiles launched by Russia.
