According to officials who spoke to The Washington Post, Russia is providing Iran with information about American military targets in the Middle East, indicating the indirect involvement of a major adversary of the U.S. in the conflict. This assistance, which had not been previously disclosed, began after the initial U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran. Although the extent of Russian aid is not completely clear, it is estimated that it could be a significant effort. Following the Iranian drone attacks, six American soldiers were killed in Kuwait.

Despite the joint American-Israeli campaign, which has struck thousands of Iranian targets, the White House spokesperson stated that the Iranian regime is severely affected. Additionally, the Secretary of Defense mentioned that Russia and China are not significant factors in this conflict, although relations between Russia and Iran have been strengthened by a strategic partnership agreement signed in 2025.
