Russia carried out one of the largest air attacks since the beginning of the invasion, launching nearly 1,000 drones against Ukraine within 24 hours, on March 23 and 24.
The attacks specifically targeted the central and western regions of the country, causing at least seven deaths and over 50 injuries. The city of Lviv was among those affected, with drones hitting civilian areas, injuring 17 people and damaging a nationally significant architectural monument. Other cities, such as Ivano-Frankivsk, reported casualties and significant damage to residential buildings and medical facilities.
Ukrainian authorities claim that Russia is changing and adapting its tactics to overcome air defense systems, and President Zelensky emphasized that the scale of the attack demonstrates Russia's lack of intention to negotiate peace.
