Russia announced that 493 Ukrainian drones had been neutralized while heading toward the Moscow region between November 2 at 8:30 p.m. and November 3 at 7:30 a.m. The information was conveyed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram.
According to him, most of the drones were intercepted by the Russian Defense Ministry’s air defense systems on the outskirts of the region, while 187 were destroyed as they approached the capital. The cited information provided no details about any potential casualties or damage.
The attacks took place amid Russia’s massive bombardment of Ukraine and U.S. President Donald Trump’s calls for an end to reciprocal strikes on energy infrastructure.
In an interview with PBS NewsHour, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States to exert greater pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He argued that Russia bears responsibility for starting the war and warned that strengthening Ukraine is essential for the security of Europe and NATO.
