Aleksandr Pankin, deputy to the Russian Foreign Minister, announced that Russia has received an invitation to participate in the G20 summit 'at the highest level.' The summit, which brings together the main developed and emerging countries, will take place at a golf course owned by Donald Trump's family, in Miami, Florida. Dmitri Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, mentioned that no final decision has been made regarding Russia's participation, but that it has been present at every previous summit. Vladimir Putin, who did not attend the G20 summit in November 2025 due to an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for 'war crimes,' was represented by his economic advisor, Maksim Oreshkin, in South Africa. As the summit approaches, the format of Russia's participation will be decided.
