The Russian government has announced the extension of the temporary ban on gasoline and other fuel exports until February 28, 2026, as a measure to protect the domestic market. The decision, communicated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, aims to ensure supply during the winter and protect against price fluctuations. The ban applies to all parties, including producers and intermediaries, but companies that produce directly, such as Rosneft and Gazprom Neft, can continue exports. This measure is part of a series of protectionist actions implemented by Moscow, aimed at responding to the challenges posed by Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, which have led to a decrease in oil processing and a fuel crisis in the domestic market.
