The European Commission announced that, after finalizing agreements with partners in the Western Balkans and aligning them with EU roaming regulations, citizens will be able to make calls, send text messages, and use mobile data without extra charges.

Marta Kos, the Commissioner for Enlargement, emphasized that allegations of fraud and additional fees affect traveling citizens, and extending roaming rules to the Western Balkans will facilitate communication. Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President, added that this step is essential for integrating partners from the Western Balkans into the EU roaming family, benefiting both citizens and businesses.
