The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, sent a threatening message to European states, suggesting that Russia could cut off gas supplies to focus on more promising markets. In an interview with a state television reporter, Putin stated that it might be more profitable for Russia to stop supplies to Europe and turn to other emerging markets.

These statements come in the context of the European Commission planning to propose a ban on Russian oil imports. Putin emphasized that Russia has been a reliable energy supplier and will continue to collaborate with trusted partners, such as Slovakia and Hungary. He also mentioned that he will instruct the government to analyze this issue together with Russian companies.
