Vladimir Putin seems to be testing NATO's patience, despite the difficulties he is facing in Ukraine. James Stavridis, the former Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, emphasizes that Russia has begun to launch provocations, including recent incidents with drones and missiles in Europe.

These actions suggest a strategy of intimidating European allies, in an attempt to divide support for Ukraine. Stavridis notes that Putin, aware of the losses in Ukraine, may resort to cyberattacks and nuclear threats to promote his objectives.

He suggests that NATO must respond firmly, organizing military exercises and developing cyber defense plans. A decisive response from the Alliance could deter Russia, while a lack of response could encourage the Kremlin to continue its provocations. It is essential for NATO to demonstrate its military power and determination to protect its member states.
