The Kremlin has implemented heightened security measures for President Vladimir Putin, including the installation of monitoring systems in the homes of his close associates, in response to assassination fears and possible plots.

According to a report from a European intelligence agency, Putin's associates are no longer allowed to use public transport, and visitors are subjected to strict checks. These measures were introduced after the assassination of a high-ranking general, which generated tensions within the Russian security apparatus. Additionally, Putin has drastically reduced public appearances, spending more time in modernized bunkers.

The report highlights a state of unease in the Kremlin, exacerbated by economic difficulties and failures on the front in Ukraine. Concerns about information leaks and risks of a coup persist, especially around former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The Kremlin has not commented on the information, but some measures were already suspected.
