On Saturday, a blackout affected around 160,000 households in the western Alpes-Maritimes region, particularly in Cannes, where the film festival is taking place. Organizers assured that the event was not disrupted. RTE said crews were working to restore power and police sources suggested the outage may have been caused by a fire at a power station, which is under investigation.
