Portugal's tourism sector recovered rapidly in 2023, attracting a record 26.5 million foreign tourists. Most visitors came from Spain, the UK and France. Tourism accounts for around 12% of Portugal's GDP, and the country's economy grew by 2.3% in 2023, one of the highest growth rates in the EU. Forecasts point to an expansion of 1.5% this year and 1.9% next year.
