The administration of American President Donald Trump announced that Poland will be the only country from the European Union invited to the G20 leaders' summit, scheduled for December 14-15, 2026, at Trump National Doral Miami. The U.S. State Department confirmed that Poland also participated in the recent preparatory meeting of the G20 held in Washington. Although it is not a permanent member of the G20, Poland is considered a strategic ally of the U.S. due to its military spending and support for the White House's policies. In contrast, South Africa has been excluded from the group's activities following allegations of genocide, which it denies. Washington aims, under Trump's leadership, to bring the G20 back to the fundamental economic agenda, focusing on boosting economic prosperity and promoting technological innovations. Other major economies, including Russia, also participated in the preparatory meeting, which is in negotiations with the U.S. to end the conflict in Ukraine.
