Poland has announced the reopening of two border points with Belarus, starting from November 17, after they were closed in September due to Russian-Belarusian military exercises and incidents in Polish airspace. The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs has published a draft decision confirming this reopening.
The point at Bobrowniki will allow access for cars and trucks from the European Union, EFTA, and Switzerland, while the point at Kuznica Bialostocka will be available only for cars. The decision to reopen responds to the expectations of entrepreneurs and carriers traveling between the two countries. The previous closure was a reaction to military exercises and incidents involving Russian drones in Polish airspace. Additionally, Warsaw considered the possibility of delaying the reopening in solidarity with Lithuania, which has been affected by smuggling from Belarus.
