The Polish military command announced that it is considering donating MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, in exchange for technology for drones and missiles. The General Staff of the Polish armed forces stated that discussions are ongoing, emphasizing that the aircraft are nearing the end of their operational lifespan and that modernization is unlikely. The donation of the aircraft would be part of the alliance's policy to support Ukraine and maintain the security of NATO's eastern flank. The role of the MiG-29 would be replaced by F-16 and FA-50 aircraft. Ukraine, which already possesses approximately 40 MiG-29 aircraft, previously received 14 planes from Poland and 13 from Slovakia. In the context of the conflict, Ukraine has become an important producer of military technology, ramping up domestic production of missiles and drones.
