The Pentagon has announced that it will offer compensation to servicemembers who have been discharged for refusing to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and want to return to the military. The compensation will include base pay, rent, living allowances and possible medical benefits. More than 8,700 U.S. servicemembers have been discharged for refusing to vaccinate, and the vaccination requirement was canceled in January 2023.
