OMV Petrom and its partner NewMed Energy announced that they have closed and abandoned two drilled wells in the Han Asparuh perimeter in the Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea, after explorations did not identify significant reserves of natural gas.

The total cost of drilling amounted to about 170 million euros, but OMV's direct exposure was lower due to partnerships in the project.

Meanwhile, the company states that the strategic Neptun Deep project in Romania is progressing according to plan, with the first gas deliveries estimated for 2027.
