Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan received the OMV Group delegation at Victoria Palace on Monday. The delegation was led by Emma Delaney, Chairwoman of the Executive Board and CEO of OMV, as well as interim member and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of OMV Petrom. The discussions focused on developments in the energy sector and the Neptun Deep project, amid fluctuations in fuel prices and supply crises caused by international conflicts.
The government announced that the Neptun Deep project, developed by OMV Petrom together with Romgaz, is proceeding according to the established schedule, with actual production set to begin next year. The investment is considered strategic for Romania, as the extraction of natural gas from the Black Sea is expected to strengthen the country's energy security and support the national economy.
Ilie Bolojan stressed that completing the investment and starting extraction must remain government priorities. The prime minister called for the identification of effective formulas for cooperation between the authorities and the company to coordinate actions within the project.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Mihai Jurca. The prime minister thanked the OMV Petrom team for its transparent cooperation and ongoing dialogue.
