Automaker Nissan has announced it will halt production at its Oppama plant until March 2028, moving operations to Fukuoka to reduce capacity. The plan includes reducing capacity from 3.5 million to 2.5 million vehicles. Nissan is in talks with Foxconn to use the plant to produce electric vehicles. The Oppama plant, opened in 1961, has been a symbol of the company's global ambitions. Nissan is facing falling sales and big debts.
