Joyson Safety Systems, a global leader in the production of components for the automotive industry, will close the factory in Jibou, Sălaj County, on July 30.

The decision was influenced by rising production costs, especially energy and fuel, and production will be moved to Morocco. Daniel Opre, the director of AJOFM Sălaj, announced that 96 former employees will be registered with the agency to receive unemployment benefits, and some have managed to find jobs elsewhere. In 2025, the factory reported a turnover of 14.8 million lei and a profit of approximately 148,000 lei.

The closure of the factory represents one of the most significant collective layoffs in Sălaj County in recent years, comparable to the layoff of 149 employees of Cemacon in 2009, in the context of the economic crisis.
