According to an Arab diplomat, the negotiations between the United States and Iran, which were initially scheduled for Friday in Turkey, will take place in Oman. The Iranians requested this change of location, and the Americans agreed, but the details about how the discussions will unfold are still under discussion.
Since the beginning of the year, relations between the two countries have been characterized by alternating between openness to dialogue and threats, in the context of rising tensions. An initial meeting was planned for Istanbul, with the main topics being the nuclear file and missile-related issues, but Iran now wants to limit the discussions solely to the nuclear issue and focus exclusively on dialogue with the United States, an approach that the Americans have rejected until now.
