At the NATO summit in The Hague, leaders of member countries pledged to invest 5% of GDP in defense and security by 2035. They will allocate at least 3.5% of GDP annually to military spending and 1.5% to general security. They also reaffirmed their commitment to collective defense under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty and their support for Ukraine in the face of long-term Russian threats.
