Meta has informed employees about the implementation of a new tool that will monitor their activity on computers and internal applications. This data will be used to train artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

An employee, who wished to remain anonymous, described the situation as "very dystopian," mentioning that small actions on the computer are used to train the AI model. Meta has already laid off approximately 2,000 employees this year and expects further staff reductions. The company has also adopted a partial hiring freeze, reducing the number of job postings from 800 to just seven.

Although employee activity was previously accessible, specific monitoring for AI training is a novelty. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, stated that he will increase spending on AI projects, trying to position the company at the forefront of technology.
