A large-scale mobilization was organized in South Korea to locate an escaped wolf named Neukgu from the Daejeon O-World zoo. The two-year-old wolf managed to escape by digging under the fence, and authorities mobilized over 300 people, including firefighters, police officers, and military troops, to find him.
President Lee Jae Myung commented on the incident on the social media platform X, expressing his concern and hope that there would be no human casualties and that Neukgu would return home safely. Due to the wolf being at large, a nearby elementary school was closed as a precautionary measure, and authorities urged residents to be vigilant. Drones with cameras were deployed to assist in the search but were withdrawn due to heavy rain. Thermal images showed the wolf moving through a wooded area near the zoo.
