A Malaysian pilot aged 39 was arrested at Jakarta airport after customs authorities discovered over 70,000 ecstasy pills and four grams of methamphetamine in his luggage. The man, who was piloting a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta, was tested for drug use, with the results indicating the presence of methamphetamine, ecstasy, and cocaine. During the hearings, the pilot admitted that this was his third attempt to smuggle drugs into Indonesia, agreeing to transport the narcotics in exchange for approximately 10,600 euros. Authorities suspect that he is part of an international drug trafficking network and have charged him with violating Indonesian law. Under Indonesia's strict anti-drug laws, the man faces a death sentence or life imprisonment.
