The Dutch Institute for Addiction Research and Mental Health, Trimbos, has issued a 'red alert' regarding ecstasy pills shaped like the head of American President Donald Trump. The warning was given after some tested pills were found to have a 'very high' concentration of PMMA, a substance similar to MDMA.

The institute emphasized that the use of these pills can have fatal consequences, causing agitation and severe symptoms such as nausea and seizures. Although no deaths or serious illnesses have been reported so far, authorities underline the associated risks. The production and use of ecstasy are illegal in the Netherlands, but the drug remains popular, with 550,000 users in 2022. This is not the first time that ecstasy pills have been inspired by Trump's image; in 2017, German police confiscated similar pills.
