At the Louvre Museum in Paris, a water leak caused the destruction of between 300 and 400 books, particularly affecting the Egyptian department, which houses important volumes for Egyptologists. The incident occurred at the end of November, and checks are ongoing to assess the extent of the damage. The museum's management announced that the affected books will be dried and restored before being returned to the shelves.

This situation comes shortly after the theft of jewelry worth over 100 million dollars, raising questions about the museum's infrastructure and security. Repairs to the water supply system are scheduled for September 2026, highlighting the technical issues faced by the Louvre.
