Robertas Kaunas, the Lithuanian Minister of Defense, stated that the Kremlin might seek a new escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, considering the stagnation of the Russian offensive. He emphasized that Russian society is beginning to challenge Putin's regime due to failures in Ukraine and internal shortages. Kaunas mentioned that Poland and the Baltic states are relatively easy targets for Russia.
In recent weeks, leaders from Poland and Lithuania have expressed concerns regarding Russian provocations, and NATO officials have acknowledged the risk of a conventional attack on a member state. In this context, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone assured that NATO is prepared to respond.
On the other hand, Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on Moscow in response to one of the most extensive Russian bombings of Kyiv. Internal tensions in Ukraine are rising, with protests against the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and calls for a change in military leadership.
