The Jordanian army announced on Wednesday the interception of five missiles launched from Iran, following an escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed that the missiles targeted the Muwaffaq Salti airbase and the headquarters of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in Jordan. On the same day, CENTCOM stated that U.S. forces shot down a barrage of Iranian missiles. In the context of these attacks, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia conducted airstrikes on logistical bases in Iraq, in response to the coordinated attacks by the IRGC. The Saudi Ministry of Defense emphasized that it does not seek to escalate the conflict but will respond to any aggression. In recent days, tensions have increased, and the Iraqi Prime Minister convened an emergency meeting to discuss these attacks.
