Jamie Dimon, the chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, stated in a recent interview that the United States is facing the greatest risk in the last 80 years, emphasizing that societal issues will not be solved solely by politicians:

“We, in the business community, have made a mistake by not getting involved earlier.”

During 'The Axios Show', Dimon mentioned that his annual letter to shareholders will analyze geopolitical threats, stating that there are more risks than in the post-World War II period. He highlighted the negative impact of artificial intelligence, warning that it will likely replace many workers in the medium term and could facilitate devastating attacks.

Dimon also addressed the issue of poor communication from CEOs with employees and the public, mentioning that the fear of upsetting President Trump is not a valid reason. Although he remains optimistic about the future of the U.S., he stressed the importance of acknowledging existing problems.

“We still have the most prosperous nation the world has ever seen [and] the best military. We are in an excellent position - and we have problems. … You cannot solve problems when you do not acknowledge them.”

Regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, Dimon criticized the society that continued to accept the financier even after his guilty plea in 2008, highlighting government complicity.

“I believe some people would do anything to be part of the insider club or something like that,” he said. “The government knows a lot. Why hasn’t the government done anything about this? For all these years, he was abusing those young women. They knew.”

He suggested that an independent presidential candidate might be needed, but ruled out the possibility of running himself:

“I am sought after, but I am not sure I am suited for that.”
