Before the conflict with Iran broke out, Israel uncovered an extensive network of citizens recruited by Iranian intelligence services for espionage. More than 30 people were accused of collaboration, having been contacted through apps such as Telegram, where they were offered cryptocurrency rewards for various activities. One notable case involves a 72-year-old man who was recruited and received offers of up to $1 million to assassinate Israeli leaders. Although many attempts have failed, authorities believe they have helped obtain strategic intelligence.
