Iran has executed two men, Omid Behzad and Pouria Safvat, convicted of espionage in favor of Israel, according to Mizan, the press agency of the Iranian judiciary.
They were hanged for transmitting the coordinates of military and security sites to agents of Mossad, the Israeli foreign intelligence service.
Details about the date of their arrest or trial have not been provided, but they were accused of 'espionage and collaboration with the Zionist regime'.
According to state television, the acts of espionage took place during the current conflict, which began on February 28, and the previous war in June 2025.
Iran ranks second in the world, after China, in terms of the number of executions.
Human rights NGOs reported a record of 1,639 executions in 2025, and Amnesty International has condemned an escalation of executions in Iran.
