Itamar Ben Gvir, the Minister of National Security in Israel, declared on Tuesday that he has begun the construction of a "hanging center" for death row inmates, in accordance with a recently adopted law by the Knesset, which imposes the death penalty for terrorists. In a video posted on his Telegram channel, Ben Gvir emphasized that his promises to improve conditions for terrorists in prisons and to implement the death penalty have been fulfilled.
The new unit will include 'observation booths' for the families of victims, allowing them to witness the executions. The law adopted in March applies to Palestinians in the West Bank, but not to Israeli citizens, who are tried in civil courts. Ben Gvir stated that 'terrorists deserve death on the gallows.'
