Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian foreign minister, condemned the announcement by the United States regarding the resumption of nuclear tests, considering it a regressive and irresponsible measure that seriously threatens international peace and security. He emphasized the need for the world to unite to hold the U.S. accountable, accusing them of normalizing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. In the context of Iran being suspected of secretly developing an atomic weapon, Araghchi stated that the United States represents "the most dangerous proliferation risk in the world." The American Vice President, JD Vance, justified the resumption of tests as necessary for maintaining the effective functioning of the American nuclear arsenal, after President Donald Trump ordered their resumption.
