Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, stated that an agreement regarding the Iranian nuclear program is "within reach", ahead of a new round of negotiations with the United States, scheduled for Thursday in Geneva. Iran is approaching these discussions with the determination to reach a fair and swift agreement. Araghchi mentioned that there is a "historic opportunity" to finalize an agreement that respects the concerns of both parties. Previous negotiations were suspended in June 2025 due to the 12-Day War, but recently an understanding on guiding principles has been reached. However, U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance emphasized that there are significant divergences between the two parties. While Iran insists that it wants to develop a civilian nuclear program, Western fears persist regarding the possible development of an atomic bomb. Tensions have risen, and Iran has warned that it will respond with force to any American attack.
