The United States is offering rewards of up to $20 million, as well as the possibility of relocation, to people who provide information about Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. Central Command announced, as cited by Euronews. The initiative seeks information about facilities, equipment, scientific personnel and their movements.
The offer is being made through the State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program, established in 1984 to obtain information that could help protect U.S. national security. Washington maintains that Iran has failed to comply with its safeguards obligations toward the International Atomic Energy Agency, affecting the agency’s ability to monitor the production and stockpiles of key components, including centrifuges.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that U.S. strikes completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities and that Tehran will never obtain a nuclear weapon. The statements were made amid negotiations on ending the conflict that began in late February, following U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has meanwhile confirmed that authorities in Tehran are attempting to resolve the situation through dialogue.
