A new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding Tehran's nuclear program is scheduled for Thursday in Geneva, according to the foreign minister of Oman. Oman has played an important role in facilitating previous discussions, including the last round of negotiations that took place last week. Abbas Araghchi, Iran's foreign minister, stated that he expects to meet with the U.S. envoy, Steve Witkoff, and expressed optimism about finding a diplomatic solution.
This round of negotiations comes in the context of warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump, who mentioned the possibility of limited attacks against Iran if an agreement is not reached. Both parties have emphasized that they are prepared for military confrontations in the event that discussions fail. The last negotiations took place on February 17.
