Annually, on the first Friday of August, International Beer Day is celebrated. This day is a moment of global celebration dedicated to a beverage with an ancient history and a strong influence on cultures around the world.

According to internationalbeerday.com, International Beer Day was first celebrated in August 2008.

The idea belonged to Jesse Avshalomov, who, along with a few friends, convinced the owner of a local bar to organize a day dedicated to beer. The first chosen date was August 5.

The initiators set three general objectives:

for people to meet and enjoy beer,

to appreciate the producers, distributors, and those who serve beer,

to celebrate beers from different countries and cultures.

The celebration then spread through the internet and events organized by bars and breweries. From a local event, it has come to be marked in numerous cities around the world.
