Hurricane Erick, classified as a category 4 hurricane, hit the southwest coast of Mexico on Thursday, particularly in the Oaxaca state area, with extremely strong wind gusts of up to 205 kilometers per hour. The US National Hurricane Center confirmed that the hurricane made landfall at 5.43 local time, in an area far from popular tourist resorts such as Acapulco and Puerto Escondido.
