Following international pressures to reduce dependence on Russia, Hungary has signed a contract with trader MVM CEEnergy for the delivery of 400 million cubic meters of gas annually, during the period 2028-2038. This agreement, along with another contract with Shell for 200 million cubic meters starting in 2026, represents significant steps in diversifying natural gas supply. Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto emphasized the importance of this contract for Hungary's energy security.
