The project will see the construction of a 180-kilometer pipeline across Hungary with an annual capacity of up to five million tons. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto emphasized that the project is essential for the country's energy security and to maintain the effects of measures to reduce utility costs. He criticized external pressure to move away from Russian oil and gas, noting that Europeans pay more for energy than other regions.
