Transgaz has announced the completion and commissioning of two strategic natural gas pipelines, essential for the energy future of Romania.
The first, the Tuzla–Podișor pipeline, will take gas from the Neptun Deep offshore field in the Black Sea, while the second, the Jupa–Mintia pipeline, will supply the new power plant at Mintia, with a capacity of 1,800 MW, one of the most modern in Europe.
The General Director of Transgaz, Ion Sterian, stated that these projects will strengthen the country's energy security, reduce dependence on imports, and transform Romania into a key point on the energy map of the region.
To manage the new volumes of gas, Transgaz will modify, starting October 20, 2025, the operating limits of the National Transport System, updating the thresholds for normal operation, pre-alert status, and alert.
